Powers History

1985

Effective January 1, 1985 Powers becomes an Independent Field Office. Powers of Arkansas is predominately a Controls company and is owned by Paul Briscoe.

1987

Powers of Arkansas opens a Northwest Arkansas Office in Springdale.

1990s

Powers of Arkansas adds HVAC Manufacturers’ Rep Business and expands the HVAC Service (Controls and Mechanical).

2005

In August, Alan Hope buys Powers of Arkansas from Paul Briscoe. Powers of Arkansas continues to expand the Controls department and the Manufacturers’ Rep Business. The Mechanical Service business is merged with Mechanical Service Company (Powers-MSC) led by Rick Lewis, a separate company dedicated to service. Powers grows to 60 employees.

2008

Powers establishes a new headquarters in North Little Rock in October. The HVAC Manufacturers’ Rep Business expands, and the defined business units are Controls, Controls Service, Mechanical Service, HVAC Equipment, Air Distribution, and HVAC Retrofit Projects.

2010

Powers wins Arkansas Business of the Year for 2010.
Powers also wins Siemens Field Office of the Year for 2010.

2011

Powers wins Siemens Field Office of the Year for 2011.

2013

Powers expands the Manufacturers’ Rep Business in HVAC Equipment and Air Distribution.

2014

Powers Northwest Arkansas Office expands, adding key staff in Controls, HVAC Manufacturers’ Rep, and Mechanical Service.

2015

Powers Northeast Arkansas expansion of Powers with Mechanical Service and Retrofit Projects along with full support of our Controls and Manufacturer Rep Business.

2017

Powers expands the headquarters in North Little Rock. Powers expands to Oklahoma with an office in Tulsa under the name of “The Building Automation Company” (TBAC) that promotes Talon by Siemens, backed by Powers, for Controls Installation and Service.

2018

Powers is awarded the Siemens Field Office of the Year in 2018. Powers South Arkansas expands with Mechanical Service and Retrofit Projects along with full support of our Controls and Manufacturer Rep Business.

2019

Powers expands the North Little Rock headquarters again, adding 4,000 square feet of offices and 8,000 square feet of warehouse space.

2020

Powers expands with Siemens by adding territory in seven (7) states: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. The Building Automation Company becomes Powers of Oklahoma as we add Powers of Mississippi, and Powers of Louisiana.

2022

Powers expands with Siemens adding Jackson, MS office.

2024

Powers became the Independent Field Office (IFO) for Siemens in all of Oklahoma and expanded into Oklahoma City.
