Powers has announced the sale of its territorial divisions in Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Alabama to Albireo Energy, a leading independent provider of building controls and energy services. The transaction was finalized in August 2026 and represents an exciting new chapter for these divisions and the people who have helped build them.
Importantly, the sale does not include Powers’ Arkansas operations, federal projects or national business accounts. Powers remains an independent, family-owned company headquartered in North Little Rock and continues to serve customers in Arkansas and across the country.
For more than 40 years, Powers has built its reputation on delivering quality, safety, service and long-term value to customers across commercial, educational, government, healthcare, industrial and other mission-critical facilities. The company’s growth has been driven by strong customer relationships and a team of highly trained professionals committed to finding the right solutions for every facility.
Powers CEO Alan Hope said protecting customer relationships, employees and the company’s culture was a priority throughout the transaction. Albireo Energy was selected because of its shared customer-first philosophy and commitment to maintaining the trusted relationships that have been central to the success of the four divisions.
“We are confident these divisions are in good hands and that Albireo will continue to build on the strong foundation established by our people,” Hope said.
Meanwhile, Powers remains focused on the future – continuing to grow as a leader in high-performance, energy-efficient HVAC systems, building automation and controls.
The sale marks an important milestone in Powers’ 40-year history, while reinforcing the company’s ongoing commitment to its customers, employees and the communities it serves.
