  • Bolton Building Mechanical Upgrades

The E.L. Bolton State Office Building in Mississippi was in the middle of construction on their first floor when it seemed they had missed something. As part of the project they were replacing some ductwork and upgrading the controls on the air handler units. When the spaces were not maintaining temperature, they asked us to look at the problem.

  • Clinton Presidential Center Chiller Plant Optimization

An old air cooled chiller had run its course in the Choctaw Building occupied by the Clinton School for Public Service and needed to be replaced. Meanwhile, 10-year-old inefficient Trane chillers were costing their neighbor next door, the William J. Clinton Presidential Library, a ton of money. Together they needed a solution that could provide chilled water for both facilities more efficiently as well as a better Building Automation and Controls System that could operate the chiller plant along with the entire facility.

  • How to Supervise Your Boiler Plant with Remote Monitoring

Staffing the boiler plant and ensuring operations are safe, efficient, and operating properly is an age-old problem, and one that a hospital client of ours recently encountered. Luckily, by using a combination of people, technology, and a solid Standard Operating Procedure Powers can solve this headache.

  • Keeping It Cool with a Quantech Chiller

What do you do when your chiller needs major repairs to keep it going and summer is fast approaching? And what if that chiller serves a critical area like a server room, the heartbeat of the business? Our customer needed their chiller for this critical server room operational and to be so quickly.

  • Largest Energy Savings Project in Arkansas

Powers is proud to be part of the largest energy savings project in Arkansas to create a new electrical generator plan for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). We are working with CDI general contractors, Bernhard, and other partners under an Energy Performance Contract which includes the construction of this generator plant, providing 100% back-up power for the entire campus.

  • Pratt & Whitney Destratification Fans

Powers was called to address poor air distribution at one of Pratt & Whitney's manufacturing facilities. We found a solution that would help redistribute the air and also maximize the comfort and efficiency of the HVAC system.

  • Replacement of Water Chillers at Simmons Tower

Due to rising energy costs, HVAC systems must perform more efficiently. With 25-year-old inefficient chillers and progressively higher costs to maintain the chillers, it became apparent to the management of the Simmons Tower that it was time to replace them.

  • Two Financial Centre

This project was a design build solution by Powers that transformed a poorly operating HVAC system into an efficient system that also increased the occupant comfort level. The DX AHU was leaking and inefficient. The VAV boxes were poorly zoned and not controlling properly due to outdated pneumatics and lack of volume control.

  • Villa Maria Retirement Home

The Villa Maria Retirement Home had an aging two pipe fan coil system that was failing and needed to upgrade the plant and provide new chilled water and hot water riser throughout the facility. An Engineer called Powers looking for an affordable solution to the retirement home's problems.
